Penn Mutual Announces the Appointment of Isaac Johnson to the Penn Mutual Board of Trustees

PHILADELPHIA, PA – May 15, 2025 – The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company (Penn Mutual) is pleased to announce the appointment of Isaac Johnson, Jr. to its distinguished Board of Trustees. Johnson joins the Penn Mutual enterprise in this key governance role with a career spanning more than three decades as a financial services executive, military general and governance professional.

Johnson is currently the President and CEO of TDECU, Texas’ largest state-chartered credit union. Under his leadership, TDECU has expanded its services and footprint, and Johnson has been instrumental in driving the credit union’s growth and success over the past five years.

Previously, Johnson served as Vice President and Assistant Corporate Secretary for the United Services Automobile Association (USAA). At USAA, Johnson advised and assisted the USAA Board of Directors and Committee Chairs in oversight of executive management’s execution and performance of strategic initiatives.

In parallel to his executive roles, Johnson’s military career is marked by a distinguished 38-year tenure in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he retired as a two-star Major General.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University, a Master of Business Administration from Jackson State University, a JD from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and executive education from The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.
