HORSHAM, Pa. – October 16, 2017 – The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company (Penn Mutual) is pleased to announce new leadership for its Southern California Agency, Sterling Wealth Strategies. Maryam Habashi comes in as the new managing partner of Penn Mutual’s Southern California agency with locations in LaJolla, CA. and Las Vegas, NV. She comes to Penn Mutual after spending the last 12 years at Banker’s Life, San Diego, where she was a regional director.

In her new role at Penn Mutual, Habashi will work to support and grow effective field mangers and advisers to serve clients throughout the San Diego/Southern California communities as well as in the Las Vegas, Nevada marketplace. Her experience developing successful leaders in financial services will be instrumental in expanding the Penn Mutual footprint in Southern California.

In her previous post at Banker’s Life, Habashi was the first female in a regional director level in 134 years. “I’ve always been driven and dedicated in moving our industry forward. My workplace philosophies and career values wholly align with Penn Mutual’s. I am thrilled to join this company, and know that we can impart change to our clients and put them on a path toward financial success,” she explained.  At Banker’s Life, Habashi was one of the founders and co-chair of the Women’s Leadership and Network Committee (WLNC).

Habashi is a member of GAMA International, an organization dedicated to promoting the professional development needs and leadership skills of those in the financial services industry. She is a member of GAMA’s Women’s Networking Committee. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Sacramento State University and holds a Master’s degree in education.
